Before the pour
Placement temperature
Enter the forecast and least section dimension. FrostPour gives the minimum concrete temperature and flags hot or cold placement.
Protection period
Choose cement type and service category. FrostPour computes the protection window and exact removal date.
Blanket check
Model blanket R-value, layers, and heater use so you can see whether cover is adequate at tonight's low.
During the cure
- Log surface, interior, and ambient temperatures with one hand.
- See warnings when readings fall below the required maintain temperature.
- Track maturity toward the conservative 500 psi first-freeze planning target.
- Export a one-page PDF protection plan and log for the inspector or submittal package.

Cold-weather concrete FAQ
How long must I protect concrete in cold weather?
Under ACI 306R-16, normal-set concrete needs about 2 days for no-load not-exposed, 3 days for no-load exposed, and 6 days for partial-load exposed. FrostPour computes the exact end date.
How cold is too cold to pour concrete?
Cold-weather rules kick in at or below 40F. Minimum concrete temperature ranges from 40F for thick sections to 55F for sections under 12 inches.
Do I need sensors?
No. FrostPour works from the forecast and a regular thermometer. No buried sensors are required.
Guidance only
FrostPour gives planning guidance based on ACI 306R-16 and ASTM C1074. It does not replace the project specifications, the engineer of record, or the authority having jurisdiction.
