How to use Anvilfield, and what stands behind it.
Straight answers on what our guides are, how they are made, and where the responsibility line sits.
Field-reference, not a stamp
Anvilfield guides are practical field references written and reviewed against published standards and codes. They are not a substitute for the adopted code in your jurisdiction, the manufacturer's instructions, or a licensed professional. Always verify against the current local code and the authority having jurisdiction before you build, bid, or sign off.
How the guides are made
Every guide is written and reviewed by subject-matter reviewers, checked against current standards, and re-audited for accuracy and currency. We correct errors when we find them and we do not fabricate citations, values, or standards.
Your data in our tools
The Anvilfield field tools and FieldOS are built to keep your records yours. See the privacy policy for exactly what is collected and how it is handled.

Editorial standards
How a guide is written, reviewed, and kept current
- Grounded in published standards. Each guide is written against the codes and standards that actually govern the work, and every code reference shown on a guide is one it genuinely cites. We do not fabricate citations, values, or standards.
- Reviewed for accuracy. Guides are reviewed by subject-matter reviewers and checked against current standards before publishing, then re-audited for accuracy and currency. Each guide shows its last-reviewed date.
- Answer-first and field-tested. Every guide leads with a direct answer and the field assumptions behind it, so the number or rule is usable on site, not buried.
- Corrected in the open. If a number looks wrong or a code has moved, tell us at [email protected] and we check it. Accuracy is the product.
