ANVILFIELD Try FieldOS

Readiness check

Is your asphalt paving day ready to go?

Density is won or lost in the minutes the mat is hot, and most of what decides it is set before the paver moves: the window you have, the tack you pulled, the roller train, and the plan for the joint. Answer for the mat you have coming. The score is computed on your device; add an email only if you want the paving-day checklist sent over.

1. Do you have the compaction window for today's conditions (delivery temp, lift thickness, base temp, wind)?
2. Is the breakdown roller set to work tight behind the paver in the hot zone?
3. Is the tack coat applied at the right rate and broken before paving over it?
4. Are the ambient and surface temperatures above the spec minimum for this lift?
5. Is the longitudinal joint construction planned (overlap, rolling, or a notched wedge)?
6. Is trucking and mat handling set to avoid segregation and temperature differentials?
7. Do you know the Gmm and have the density gauge correlated for acceptance?
8. Is someone recording mat temperatures, rolling, and density as the work runs?
