Readiness check

Is your restoration crew ready to respond to a property loss?

Restoration is won or lost in the first hours, on safety, the right protocol, and the documentation the carrier needs. Most disputes trace to a missed category call, slow drying, or thin paperwork, not the cleanup itself. Answer for how your crew actually runs a loss, not the ideal. The score stays on your device; enter an email only if you want the response readiness checklist sent over.

1. Can you respond fast (emergency service, equipment staged) when a loss call comes in?
2. Do you assess safety first (electrical, structural, pathogens, CO) before crews enter?
3. Do you classify the water category (clean/gray/black) and let it drive the response?
4. Do you dry to a measured dry standard with meters, not a fixed number of days?
5. For mold or Category 3, do you contain, use proper protocol, and bring in a third-party IEP?
6. Is your team trained and equipped for biohazard work (universal precautions, regulated waste)?
7. Do you document the loss thoroughly (photos, readings, scope, moisture logs) from the start?
8. Do you understand the insurance claim (mitigation duty, Xactimate-style scope, the adjuster)?
