ANVILFIELD Try FieldOS

Readiness check

Is your treatment plant crew working safely and in compliance?

Treatment plants combine the deadliest field hazards (confined spaces and toxic gases) with a living biological process and a strict discharge permit. The work goes wrong when any of those is taken lightly. Answer for how the plant actually operates and how the trades work in it. The score stays on your device; enter an email only if you want the treatment plant readiness checklist sent over.

1. Are wet wells, digesters, and tanks treated as permit-required confined spaces with testing and rescue?
2. Do you monitor for H2S (sewer gas) where it collects, with detection and ventilation?
3. Is chlorine gas handled safely (leak detection, SCBA, scrubber or alternative disinfection)?
4. Is the biological (secondary) process managed to keep the microorganisms healthy?
5. Is the aeration (blowers, dissolved oxygen) reliable and backed up so the bugs do not die?
6. Are certified operators running the plant at the required class?
7. Do you meet and document the discharge permit (NPDES) or drinking-water (SDWA) limits?
8. Is critical equipment (pumps, blowers, chemical feed) maintained with redundancy?
