Readiness check

Is your concrete pour ready to go?

Most slab problems are set before the concrete leaves the plant: the weather nobody planned for, the subgrade nobody checked, the cure nobody staged. Answer for the pour you have coming. The score is computed on your device; enter an email only if you want the pour-day checklist sent over.

1. Have you checked the evaporation rate for the forecast (air temp, concrete temp, humidity, wind)?
2. Is the subgrade ready (compacted, not frozen, not bone-dry, at the right grade)?
3. Do you have the mix design, the specified slump, and the tolerance on hand?
4. Is the plan set for fresh tests and strength cylinders (who samples, where, and the cure box)?
5. Is the water-addition rule understood (one controlled add within the mix design, recorded on the ticket)?
6. Is the finishing crew and the bleed-water plan set (no finishing over bleed water)?
7. Is curing staged to start right after finishing (compound, blankets, or wet cure on hand)?
8. Is the jointing plan set (sawcut timing and spacing, or tooled joints)?
