Field glossary
Gross margin
Revenue minus the stated cost basis, divided by revenue. The example includes contingency in cost and leaves overhead to be paid from margin.
Also defined as
- Datacenter: Revenue less the chosen cost basis, divided by revenue. State whether that cost basis includes contingency and overhead.
- Roofing: Revenue less the stated job cost budget, divided by revenue. The worked example allocates company overhead separately.
