Flash gas
Liquid that boils to vapor in the liquid line when pressure drops below its saturation point, starving the metering device

Also defined as
- Vapor formed when liquid drops in pressure or picks up heat before the device, which starves the device of liquid
- Vapor flashing in the liquid line, seen as bubbles in the sight glass
